Bolton Youth Peer Advocate

We are seeking a Youth Peer Advocate to support the Partnership for Success 5-year grant aimed at reducing access to alcohol among youth in the Bolton community. Ideal applicants reside in town.

A Youth Peer Advocate works alongside the Program Manager to support the Partnership for Success 5-year grant aimed at reducing access to alcohol among youth in the Bolton community.

If so, join us as a Youth Peer Advocate!

  • Increase youth membership in the local prevention council (LPC) coalition.
  • Create and assist in implementing youth-led strategies and campaigns.
  • Attend conference on prevention.
  • Develop collaborative partnership with school and community youth groups.
  • Attend grant required trainings.
  • Attend monthly Local Prevention Council (LPC) meetings.
  • Attend grant-related meetings (virtual and at least 4 per year may be in person in Connecticut).
  • Help build community coalitions to meet all steps of the Strategic Prevention Framework.
  • Provide opportunities for additional youth to work directly with the coalition.
  • Represent the coalition on the state/local advisory boards.
  • Create a media campaign for parents and peers.
  • Applicants need to be in the age range of 16-24.
  • A motivated team player who leads by example and demonstrates passion for prevention.
  • Passionate about helping their community reduce alcohol misuse among youth.
  • Access to reliable transportation.
  • Strong interest in substance misuse prevention.
  • Ability to engage positively with all stakeholders and community members.
  • Experience as a youth in recovery and/or peer advocate/leader preferred.
  • Computer skills (Microsoft Office)
